You're Invited to experience the second of three Whiskey Samplings this summer at our beautiful Mansions on Fifth Hotel in our Oak Room Pub.
This Whiskey Sampling was curated by Deb Mortillaro of Dreadnought Wines & Spirits. We'll taste three whiskeys, then compare and contrast the final products of different distilling techniques, ingredients and philosophies. We'll also feature some light, palate cleansing food. Our Wednesday August 14 sampling event features the whiskeys of Blackadder Distillery. Founded in 1995 by Robin Turcek and John Lemond, the distillery is named after Bishop John Blackadder, a 17th century Scottish cleric. For Blackadder, their distilling philosophy derives from the art of the cask -- experimenting with different casks and the flavors they impart upon the whiskey as it ages. Our sampling features three single malt scotches aged in different types of barrels: Blackadder Red Snake 48, Blackadder Red Snake 49 and Blackadder Red Snake 50.
