You're invited to our next al fresco wine party which is set for Thursday June 20, 2019 in our beautiful garden courtyard. Our host is Marie Perriello of Breakthru Beverage Group, and our theme is War of the Rosés.
Marie will be showing four delightful and refreshing rosé wines from around the world. And if rosé makes you think of sickingly sweet white zinfandel, think again. The wines we'll be tasting are complex and refined, with a wide variety of characteristics. Rosés are, after all, just wines made from red grapes with the skins removed from the aging process - thus giving roses a pale pinkish color as opposed to a deep red or purple.
Here's our wine tasting menu matched with small plates:
- Seaglass Rosé (Monterey County 2017, Pinot Noir/Syrah/Grenache Blend), paired with New England Clam Chowder
- Bieler Pere & Fils Rosé (Aix en Provence, France 2018, Grenache/Syrah/Cinsault/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend), paired with an Atlantic Salmon cake with spicy Asian Slaw
- Charles & Charles Rosé (Columbia Valley, WA 2017, Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon/Mourvedre/ Grenache Blend), paired with a Greek Chicken Kebab and wild rice medley with Tzatziki Sauce
- Joel Gott Rosé (California Central Coast 2017, Grenache/Grenache Blanc/Cinsault/Counoise, paired with a Priory Fine Pastries dessert TBA
As always, wines are paired with the small plates from our crack culinary team of Pete Phillipy and Mike Henney. And, we'll be in our beautiful garden courtyard (with the cooperation of Mother Nature, of course), and you will entertained by the popular guitarist/singer/songwriter Donna O.
